Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

The entire team at TRDP would like to wish all our patients and their families a very Happy New Year! We are grateful to all of you for your support this past year.

2023 has seen some changes at the Practice. We have employed two trainee dental nurses, Grace and Isabella, and a new dental hygienist, Sophie, to replace the recently retired Viv. The Practice has always had a strong team and continues to grow from strength to strength. We have also expanded our range of services in 2023 and now offer Reveal Clear Aligners and have invested in a brand new dental surgery as well as new equipment including an Air Flow Polisher.

In 2024 we look forward to celebrating the 60th, yes 60!, Anniversary of the Practice in November - make sure you keep an eye out for more information. We'd love you all to be involved.

November is Mouth Cancer Action Month

Most people have heard of cancer affecting parts of the body such as the lungs or breasts. However, cancer can occur in the mouth, where the disease can affect the lips, tongue, cheeks and throat.
Anyone can be affected by mouth cancer, whether they have their own teeth or not.. The number of new cases of mouth cancer is on the increase.
As with most cancers, deaths could be prevented if the cancer was caught early enough. It is important to visit your dentist if you notice anything unusual in your mouth.
Please scan the QR code to learn how to self check for mouth cancer, and please share this post to raise awareness of mouth cancer.
During November we will be sharing on our social media sites more information regarding mouth cancer, including tips to reduce your risk.

Climate Emergency

The Welsh Government declared a Climate Emergency in 2019, and has committed to achieving a carbon neutral public sector by 2030. As a dental practice, along with our professional body, The British Dental Association, we support this declaration.

Our practice is delighted to be signed up to the Greener Primary Care Wales Framework and Award Scheme and we are actively taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint. The climate emergency is also a health emergency. We therefore aim to enhance the health of our practice population and offer sustainable choices in how we operate and the services we offer to our patients. This will provide benefits to the NHS, your health and the carbon footprint of healthcare.

Thank you

Short notice cancellations and missed appointments are a problem in healthcare. This means wasted time for the clinician, and other patients who could be seen.

We are so grateful to our patients who attend their appointments regularly, and let us know in plenty of time if they can't make it. This helps the smooth running of the Practice for everyone.

Basic Life Support Training

Thank you to Mark, on behalf of HEIW, for our Annual CPR and Medical Emergencies Training yesterday morning. The session included practical resuscitation using resus Annie for adults and children.
We would encourage everyone to learn CPR. Free online interactive training is available for everyone https://www.resus.org.uk/public-resource/how-we-save-lives/lifesaver-learning/lifesaver
